  • Does therapy work?

    The best therapy is built on a strong therapeutic alliance - where you feel supported to be curious about your thoughts and feelings. I feel privileged that my work with clients has helped them to make sense of things, better understand themselves and others and find unrealised inner strengths.

  • Do you offer a free trial?

    Yes! I offer a free 15 minute phone session to help confirm whether we are the right fit before booking a session. This is an opportunity to outline what you are experiencing, how you are feeling and how therapy can empower you to achieve your goals.

  • What happens in our sessions?

    Currently all sessions are conducted via Zoom. The first session starts with building understanding and rapport and clarifying your goals for therapy. We typically explore thoughts, emotions and behaviours and how they support or get in the way.
    However there is no checklist or script, and I am always focused on guiding my clients to explore what is most meaningful and relevant for you.

  • How many sessions do I need?

    That really depends on what you want to work on.  For some clients, a couple of sessions is all they need; for others we might work weekly or fortnightly for several months. We will talk about this in our first session and together agree on a plan that works for you.

  • Do You Provide Rebates for Mental Health Care Plans?

    No. Unfortunately Mental Health Care Plans written by a GP under the Better Access Scheme only provide rebates for a psychologist, not psychotherapists or counsellors.

    The current Medicare rebate for a general psychologist is $96.65. The Australian Psychological Society recommended session fee is $311 which means you may be out of pocket more than $200. My rates are less than this gap payment generally charged by a psychologist. 

  • What if I need to cancel or change my appointment?

    That's fine, stuff happens and changing an appointment time or day can usually be accommodated.  
    For cancellations less than 24 hours prior to your appointment, the session charge will apply.

  • How Does Payment Work?

    Payment is in at time of booking your session and via Stripe or Paypal.

    You will receive an emailed Zoom meeting invite and a reminder prior to the start of the session.
